Welcome

Since opening the first branch in Bundaberg in July 1979, the Queensland Self Defence and Taekwon- Do Academy can now offer classes at many cities/towns in Queensland. Branches are located in Far North Queensland, Central Queensland, the Wide Bay and Brisbane. We are also a member of the world's largest Taekwon-Do organisation.... the International Taekwon-Do Federation (ITF).

We are very proud of the fact that all our branches have resident Instructors certified by the ITF. In addition these highly qualified and experienced Instructors have 1st and 2nd Dan Assistant Instructors. All Academy Instructors are current holders of the "Blue Card" - Suitability Card for Child Related Employment Card. The Academy has held this accreditation since 2002.

The goal of the Academy is to develop individuals with a strong moral character and equip them with the self-confidence to use the practical self defence skills they master. The Year is divided into four terms with an exam at the end of each term. Examinations follow the criteria set down by the late General Choi, Founder of Taekwon-Do with the added element of practical self-defence.

Just two hours tuition per week is sufficient for students to be adequately prepared for each terms test. Please study our site and I hope to hear that you have enrolled and are enjoying your training.
