QSDTA in Central Queensland

Sabum Jeff overseeing the Umpires 2009

Great news for students both existing and potential – the Academy is about to open its’ first branch in the Central Queensland city of Mackay.

Sabums Jeff and Marcelle Dieben have been settling in to Mackay during the past 12 months in addition to maintaining a close watch on their Far North Queensland branches in Cairns, Mareeba and Kuranda. Membership in the Far North is at an all time high with in excess of 60 students training. Senior Branch Instructor Christopher Camp and newly promoted Branch Instructor 3rd Dan Regine Isautier along with 2nd Dan Instructors Janine Meers and Patricia Goldfinch are doing an excellent job in their new roles.

This is the second time Sabum Jeff and Marcelle have pioneered classes for the Academy and I am sure they will be as successful in promoting our Taekwon-Do in Mackay as they have in the North. Such an undertaking demonstrates the commitment these two Instructors have to spread the benefits of Taekwon-Do along with the belief in General Choi’s philosophy.

It is possible for anyone who puts their mind to it to follow in the footsteps of our Senior Instructors. Opportunities exist in all regions to open new branches and expand our membership. Once you understand that you can do for others what someone has done for you by way of passing on the development of physical and mental wellbeing you will be inspired.

Congratulations Sabum Jeff and Marcelle on your new venture and I look forward to visiting your region in the future.
